Indaba-Academia

Indaba-Academia is being developed to become an on-line educational research and learning centre. It will offer you the opportunity to: 

  • Be involved in the development of Indaba-Network by sharing your experience with researchers, youth workers, teachers in order to create or improve action and learning resources for young people as agents of social change. 
  • Participate in preparing and running on-line or real training/learning sessions for young people.

Workshops


Indaba Workshops are regularly organised on Indaba-Academia on various topics. There are two kinds of workshops:

  • The Research and Development workshop, open only to the members of Indaba-Network, where they can share their experience, debate and work together in order to contribute to the development of the World Citizens programme and of learning resources (on-line on in the real world) for young people; 
  • The Learning Workshops, open to all, where young people can work together, with the support of a facilitator, to acquire skills to become agents of social skills. 

Members

Members of Indaba-Network are volunteers (researchers, youth workers, teachers, social workers) interesting in helping young people acquire the motivation and skills to become agents of social change. They can contribute to Indaba-Network in several ways:

  • Writing articles and reports that are published in the Magazine (analysis of young people's needs and expectations; reports on young people actions and projects);
  • Participating to the development and evaluation of the World Citizens programme;
  • Developing handouts for the Toolbox
  • Contributing to Indaba-Academia (developing learning resources, preparing and running training sessions).

1.  INDABA-MAGAZINE - Prepare and edit each issue of Indaba-Magazine, improve the layout, the content and the dissemination.

2. WEBSITE AND E-LEARNING PLATFORM - Improve the website and develop the e-learning platform (Academia).

3. LIBERATING EDUCATION - Develop learning/training resources and opportunities in order to support young people engaged in actions related to formal or non-formal education.

4. HUMAN RIGHTS, CITIZENSHIP AND POLITICAL AWARENESS - Develop learning/training resources and opportunities in order to support young people engaged in actions related to Human Rights, Citizenship and Political Awareness.

5. HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP - Develop learning/training resources and opportunities in order to support young people engaged in actions related to sustainable development and social entrepreneurship.

6. VALUES-BASED ORGANIZATIONS - Develop learning/training resources and opportunities in order to support young people in their efforts to become active and critical members in the various networks and organisations they belong to.
